It shouldn't have surprised him to find the room in such disarray yet it did. Mostly because the air was soaked in the scent of his precious Snake's worry, her love, her shampoo, the natural smell of her magick, and over it all, tainting that perfection in scent form, was her terror, something she had …

"He has ten." Rhyshladlyn's voice was a thousand knives that whistled through the tension and power charged air, the Qishir's back bulging where his wings pressed against his skin; something she only knew by the way his shoulders lifted and rolled back over and over again. He invaded his Healer's space like he would crawl …

Nhulynolyn gripped the back of his chair like it was the last thing keep him from drowning as Rhyshladlyn watched them all with hooded orange-amber eyes that were all darkness and predatory glint. Watched those fathomless eyes and the face that surrounded them as Xefras took the seat that had once been Azriel's with Ahdyfe …

The first thing she saw when she dropped from the Line into the meeting hall, the wards giving a soft warbled greeting, was Azriel on one of the smaller tables, one kneecap a bloody mess of skin and bone pieces. Thayne and Alaïs trying to hold him down while he screamed that he needed to …

Xefras watched Rhyshladlyn's hair sway back and forth across the back of his broad shoulders. Blinked every time sunlight bounced off the hair-bells woven among those auburn locks, bells that hadn't made a single chime in the days since Xefras had found the Grey Court again. Watched as the muscles beneath his shirt rippled and …

Relyt knew he wasn't always known for making the best decisions, especially on the fly while forced between a wall and sword-point, but kicking Azriel was pretty high up on the list of decisions I didn't think through before making. But he couldn't bring himself to regret it as he felt his left heel connect …

Normally the frigidity of his fury came slowly. Normally it hit in waves that slowly grew in size until he blinked and the entire shore was flooded well up passed the beaches and the sand dunes erected to protect what lay beyond. But this wasn't a normal situation. And the lack of normalcy saw the …

She watched as Rhyshladlyn paced along one side of the table, stopping here and there to pick up a piece of parchment or move a map, twirl a pen around a finger, or just stare before moving again. It was so eerily similar to what he'd done during the war that it was hard to …

"Why did you do it?" They looked up from the web They'd been personally weaving to find Their brethren standing on the path, each one looking almost reproachful. Which would have been comical if They didn't know that it was born of fear. They didn't ask what Their sister meant. After all, the web They'd …

It was such a stupid idea to come here, and she knew that, but she hadn't been able to stop herself from changing course from Eyrdo and coming here anyway. Pulled by a Call nearly as strong as the qahllyn that tied her to Rhyshladlyn, an echo of the one the stories said had brought …

Synopsis

The Seven Worlds follows the story of Rhyshladlyn Ka’ahne, an extraordinary Dhaoine born into and raised in conditions that should have broken him but didn’t.

It is a story about impossible choices, heartache, triumphs, horrors and nightmares, bravery, loss, and becoming. One that shows that even when the odds are stacked in your favor, you can still lose but that doesn’t mean you have to give up, only get up and try again but harder this time.

Rhyshladlyn Ka’ahne’s story has, was, and will always be a lesson in why faith isn’t just for the gods. That more often than not, it’s for ourselves first because sometimes family, hope, and love aren’t enough to win the big fight, to overcome every — let alone any — adversity. That sometimes you have to be your own savior.
