He felt Thae'a's magick thicken the air, watched as the City he'd been running through changed before his eyes. Felt reality shake, quiver, stretch, and for the briefest of moments snap before everything settled. Nothing seemed different but he knew better. He may not have spent a lot of time around the Dreamweaver, may not …

Stumbling forward until he pressed his left shoulder to the stone beside the window opposite Eiod, he felt his heart pound against his breastbone, felt the Fear run in a river down his spine and spread out into his legs until his knees threatened to give out on him and fill his chest until his …

A language he hadn't heard before ripped through the air and brought him back to reality and the pain it held. Groaning he opened his eyes and found xefras staring at him, eyes wide enough that the light of the hearth fire and the lanterns placed randomly about the room glinted off the specks of …

He felt the rumbling before he heard it, felt the sand and the snow that dotted it slip and slide against his ankles, touching his feet through the openings of his sandals. Frowning he turned just as the Watchtowers of Shiran flared a brilliant gold and a sound like two ice shelves colliding made the air go …

She ran through the streets, ran as fast as she could knowing that the things that chased her were too fast. Knew that even if she took flight they'd outpace her. She remembered watching Rhyshladlyn fight them back in Shiran City, remembered how her Qishir was almost too slow in the face of so many. Remembered …

When Thae'a and Adïmshyl turned and asked him what was wrong when he stopped and looked at first Jerald and then Azriel seconds before the two males stopped walking in tandem and looked at each other, he didn't answer them. Not because he was being rude but because he couldn't answer, not with anything that would make …

He stopped mid-stride and looked towards the Forest of Dreams and Darkness where it loomed only half a league away on the other side of the Majik-Txiwteb border as a sound bounced off the trees and danced along the wind that had picked up suddenly, scattering snow in all directions. He stared at the black-barked …

It was the kind of pain that whited out the mind, that stole the breath, and made every ounce of one's very Self want to die. And it didn't end. It just built and built and built, like the tension before a spell clicks into place, before the first lightning strike of a thunderstorm. It …

slave yshlad made a sound like a drowning man breaking the water's surface and sucking in the air he'd been denied as every muscle in his body tensed and relaxed all at once in a ripple that traveled from the top of his head to his feet and back up as he flew awake. Though …

Sweat dripped. Muscles ached and burned. But the movement didn't stop. Because if it stopped then the thoughts would rush in and thinking right now was deadly. If asked she wouldn't be able to explain how she knew that only that she did. So she didn't question it, didn't stop moving. Just kept going because it …

Synopsis

The Seven Worlds follows the story of Rhyshladlyn Ka’ahne, an extraordinary Dhaoine born into and raised in conditions that should have broken him but didn’t.

It is a story about impossible choices, heartache, triumphs, horrors and nightmares, bravery, loss, and becoming. One that shows that even when the odds are stacked in your favor, you can still lose but that doesn’t mean you have to give up, only get up and try again but harder this time.

Rhyshladlyn Ka’ahne’s story has, was, and will always be a lesson in why faith isn’t just for the gods. That more often than not, it’s for ourselves first because sometimes family, hope, and love aren’t enough to win the big fight, to overcome every — let alone any — adversity. That sometimes you have to be your own savior.
