He had no idea how or when he'd made it out of the Keep, how he'd gotten passed the Hounds and Xhlëndïr and Oiki, but somehow he had. Somehow he'd made it almost back to the camp when he felt it like a fire wind. When the Wrongness hit the Worlds with earth quaking strength …

He groaned as awareness rushed back in. He didn't know where he was, only that the ambient magick felt similar to what surrounded Rhyshladlyn but he knew that couldn't be right. He hadn't been near his little brother in a week at the least. "You're awake." It wasn't a question but rather a mere statement …

He was so sick of being lied to. Tired of it on a level that there were no words for. Sick of opening himself up. Of trusting those around him only to find out that it was all for nothing. Only to find out that for all that he gave everything, he only ever received …

"Pick yourself up out the dirt, little brother. You look pathetic." Relyt jumped, looking up at the tent entrance feeling something like indignation and fear play tag down his spine. But he had nothing to fear from the Dhaoine standing there, not really. Everything Relyt stood to lose he'd already lost. But the indignation? Now …

A soft rattle behind em made em turn and stare at the jars that lined the shelves that covered every inch of the walls in the large room ey and Xitlali had been working in since ey'd arrived at the Keep nearly a week ago. But despite knowing ey heard a noise, there was nothing …

The walls of this cold, lonely, crowded place were thin enough now that the Lost and Broken and Forgotten could see the living pacing on the other side. Could almost smell the magick that made the Selves that filled their flushed, fleshly bodies. Could almost feel the heat that their life gave off. Freedom was …

She had fought on many Fields since she'd first took up a sword and gotten her first set of notches. She had fought on many Fields, nearly all of which had been shared with Rhyshladlyn over the course of this stupid goddamn war. And one would think that she would have gotten used to the …

The two-way mirror buzzed on his cot, making him jump at the unexpected noise. He looked out the doorway to see Rhyshladlyn was still moving through his warm-ups before he started sparring, Nhulynolyn moving through his own warm ups beside him, while Bayls sat on a rock beside the morning cook-fire watching them both. The …

He wished it didn't hurt so much. That he didn't feel so... so betrayed. Because he hadn't lied. Hadn't hidden anything. He was just as he had ever been: open and honest and sincere. Sure those of his kind in the Grey Army had come to him after the Ildir had been killed, told him that they'd felt …

About the only good thing about being in Sanctuary was that Xitlali was too busy with Hujiel and their super secret jars of whatever the fuck to focus on Eiod's comings and goings. Well that and Jerald got a well deserved reprieve. He checked in on the Alphenian as often as he could when he …

Synopsis

The Seven Worlds follows the story of Rhyshladlyn Ka’ahne, an extraordinary Dhaoine born into and raised in conditions that should have broken him but didn’t.

It is a story about impossible choices, heartache, triumphs, horrors and nightmares, bravery, loss, and becoming. One that shows that even when the odds are stacked in your favor, you can still lose but that doesn’t mean you have to give up, only get up and try again but harder this time.

Rhyshladlyn Ka’ahne’s story has, was, and will always be a lesson in why faith isn’t just for the gods. That more often than not, it’s for ourselves first because sometimes family, hope, and love aren’t enough to win the big fight, to overcome every — let alone any — adversity. That sometimes you have to be your own savior.
