The trees blurred as he ran. Underbrush sneaking out to tug at his legs and what remained of his pants, tried to trip him up but so far hadn't succeeded. In the distance, though not far enough for his liking, howls and chittering chirp-like calls pierced the air. All around him near-true night twilight reigned, …

Ryphqi City hummed softly, all contentment and calm ease. And he resented it that peace, that satiated calm. Which was unfair and ridiculous, it was a City by the Many's ten cocks, not a Dhaoine capable of stealing affection from another. But for all that it made no sense, he was still jealous of the …

She was furious. Burning so hot it was a wonder steam wasn't rising from her skin. Was even more of a wonder that Rhyshladlyn hadn't sensed it or smelled the change in the air. Though given how distraught he was, she didn't have to wonder how he missed it. It was obvious. And by the …

He gripped the back of his chair, not entirely sure when he'd made it back across the hall to it. Not sure when the silence had been broken as both his Court and Thayne's began chattering over each other, asking a slingshot of questions that he didn't hear let alone pay attention to. Because at …

His skin was tight and loose at once, twitchy where it knitted over his joints. His muscles screamed and cooed in equal measure, a teetering singsong that made his teeth itch and set his nerves on edge. He was completely safe in Eyrdo, especially so in the Eighth Palace, whether he was a guest of …

As he climbed the stairs, the sounds of fighting were loud. Rhyshladlyn's roars and the crowd's answering calls cacophonous despite the several feet of stone and steel that separated him from them. It was still hard to imagine that Thayne had proposed such a thing as the arena fights. Though given that Death's Gateway, once …

The sands were rough beneath his feet, the wind holding just the faintest of winter chill to lessen the spring warmth. The feel of so many Dhaoine packed into one place was claustrophobic even though there was several blocks before he reached them yet. His bare toes curled and relaxed as he walked, heels kicking …

Everything hurts but he drags himself across the floor anyway. Agony makes a proper home in his bones, spreading his joints until they barely listen to him but still he puts one hand out, digs his nails into the rug and pulls. Then throws out his other hand, digs in his nails and pulls again. …

Courts

[Note that the information here adds more to the definition of the term "Court" found under the Glossary of Terms tab.] Courts aren't always a location so much as a group of Dhaoine who follow a Qishir. While non-Qishir rulers have courts they are not given the capitalization to make them a proper noun like the Courts that …

Blood Oaths

Each Blood Oath is unique to the Dhaoine who speaks it. The words one speaks when Oathing to a Qishir is equivalent to handfasting vows and are as binding as those vows if only a little more so because of the Blood Bond that accompanies them. As with each individual of a Triad and Sacred Three having their own unique Oath …

Synopsis

The Seven Worlds follows the story of Rhyshladlyn Ka’ahne, an extraordinary Dhaoine born into and raised in conditions that should have broken him but didn’t.

It is a story about impossible choices, heartache, triumphs, horrors and nightmares, bravery, loss, and becoming. One that shows that even when the odds are stacked in your favor, you can still lose but that doesn’t mean you have to give up, only get up and try again but harder this time.

Rhyshladlyn Ka’ahne’s story has, was, and will always be a lesson in why faith isn’t just for the gods. That more often than not, it’s for ourselves first because sometimes family, hope, and love aren’t enough to win the big fight, to overcome every — let alone any — adversity. That sometimes you have to be your own savior.
